i-Path and Nikon have signed a Non-Exclusive Dealer License Agreement. As a result of the agreement, all Nikon customers capturing digital images, will be introduced to i-Path’s digital pathology software and services.
The relationship reflects i-Path’s high regard for Nikon’s instruments and customers. The agreement also indicates Nikon’s recognition that digital pathology software, such as PathXL, provides a complete virtual microscopy solution to Nikon’s customers. This complete solution allows users to not only scan glass slides, converting them into digital images i.e. virtual slides, but also provides storage and viewing services for the virtual slides using PathXL.
Robert Forster, General Manager–Instrument Company at Nikon states, “We sincerely hope that this is the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship between our two companies and look forward to working with i-Path very much on upcoming projects.”
Jill Higgins, Business Development Manager at i-Path says, “We are really looking forward to developing a successful and mutually beneficial working relationship between i-Path and Nikon UK. We are proud to be “scanner neutral” and already support Aperio, Zeiss, Leica, Olympus and Hamamatsu scanned images. This agreement therefore underlines our commitment to working with all major scanner vendors to fulfill market demand for end to end digital pathology services in all educational organizations, clinical and research laboratories and hospitals.”
