If the early months of 2021 have proven anything, it’s that Covid-19 testing is here to stay for the foreseeable future. However, with case numbers declining as vaccines become more widely available, it’s time for labs who have invested in the business of Covid testing to consider future lines of business.

Mike Ricciardi, founder of Miami Medical Consulting Corp and a PhD candidate (completion in April 2021) with expertise in infectious diseases and their associated diagnostics and therapeutics, will join Vachette CEO Mick Raich and President Ann Lambrix to discuss new strategies for utilizing antibody testing to measure the effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccines. With members of the general public anxious to better understand their immune response to the vaccine, this is expected to be a significant line of business in the near future. The webinar will take place at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 16.

Other topics to be discussed include:

–How to compliantly bill for second-run Covid-19 variant tests.

–The HHS push to conduct an additional 25 million tests per month.

–What to expect for future Medicare reimbursement.

–Review of what tests must be covered without cost-sharing in light of the Biden Administration’s recent Executive Order.

–Documentation to maintain when billing for screening tests.

–New testing platforms and payment options.

Among the most hotly anticipated announcements in the laboratory industry come every July, when the CMS releases its proposed Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. The projected rules update rates and policies applicable to Medicare physicians and other professionals under Medicare, and also include updates to Medicare rates and policies under Part B—as well as to the Quality Payment Program, which implements the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Alternative Payment Models (APMs).

This 90-minute webinar, including an interactive Q&A session, will provide the answers! You’ll come away with a keen understanding of how CMS is adjusting payments for particular services, as well as insights on both how your revenue may be impacted in the immediate future, and what changes you can make to best survive in this new environment—including a sample revenue projection illustrating how lab revenue can potentially be affected by the proposed changes to the MPFS.

You’ll also learn, as we look forward to year four of the QPP/MIPS program, how to fully prepare your lab for CMS to “remove the training wheels” and increase the overall reporting requirements necessary to avoid a Medicare payment penalty for poor performance. Attend and understand the specific steps that will be required in order to remain compliant with the QPP/MIPS program and avoid the potential 9% percent penalty to your revenue.
